Mr. Kamol Borrisuttanakul, Chief Financial Officer, TPBI Public Company Limited, represented the WON project at the press conference of the PPP Plastics project “Building Ecosystem for Plastic Circularity” in collaboration with government agencies, business sectors and civil society at the Aswin Grand Convention Hotel on August 23rd, 2024.
Public Private Partnership for Sustainable Plastic and Waste Management or PPP Plastics is a collaboration between the government, private sectors and civil society in Thailand. It was established by the Thailand Business Council for Sustainable Development (TBCSD) and supported by various sectors, including government agencies, the Plastic Industry Group, the Federation of Thai Industries and various network organizations. The main goal is to solve the problem of plastic waste management at the national level sustainably under the concept of a circular economy, focusing on creating a comprehensive plastic waste management system to efficiently use resources, reduce waste, and reuse more plastics.
In addition to the announcement of the project, the event also launched a project focusing on developing the economic, social, and environmental potential of the street vendor and second-hand shop groups, as well as a seminar on the topic “Thailand’s Preparation for Joining the International Agreement on Plastic Pollution” which received a lot of attention from the participants. The Loop Project by TPBI Public Company Limited is one of the partners that has continuously supported PPP Plastics. They have seriously campaigned to educate the public about plastic waste management, including collecting stretched plastics from all over the country to be recycled to create sustainable waste management based on the principles of the circular economy, according to the organization’s motto “Think Circular, Think Sustainable”.
